Come to Waseca for the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Waseca Marching Classic on Saturday, September 23, 2017. High school bands and their fans from Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin will converge on our city for the day, which promises to be family entertainment at its best.
The 100 Unit parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. in downtown Waseca and includes competing high school marching bands, classic car cruise, dignitaries, royalty, classic tractors, and floats.
Our mascot, Spatman, welcomes spectators along the parade route. The Waseca Marching Jays perform in exhibition in both parade and field. Large crowds line the street.
Awards ceremony following the parade at Trowbridge Park Bandstand (North State next to the Public Library parking lot).
The Celebration continues at Waseca High School at 5:00 PM where an introduction of dignitaries is made and the Star Spangled Banner is sung by the Waseca High School Combined Quartets. A Band Alumni Tent welcomes former Marching Jays. Marching Bands will entertain spectators with their field show routines. Awards will be presented at 8:00 p.m. The grand finale, the Classic Fireworks Display, follows the awards.
The 2017 featured guest at parade & field is the Minnesota Vikings SKOL Line, the official drum line of the Minnesota Vikings.
