Launch Summer Pilot Program for Student Interns & Young Adults Working in Waseca
Waseca, Minnesota – Tuesday June 1, 2021 – To help show prospective employees what’s great about the Waseca community, Lead For Minnesota and the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce are launching a new pilot program this summer for students interning in Waseca. Due to the pandemic and many internships being postponed until 2022, the 2021 pilot program was extended to also include Waseca employees who are 30 years old and under.
The Summer Social Calendar is an 8-week program running June 4-July 31. The calendar will highlight fun community-based events and provide participants exclusive deals and discounts to local businesses. The need to attract and retain young, diverse talent is essential to the Waseca community’s success. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has begun to focus more on rural recruitment and retention initiatives. Understanding that jobs alone won’t attract the next generation of talent to rural communities, but that intentional place-making and quality of life are critical issues for addressing workforce challenges.
All participants will be required to submit an online registration form to receive an official membership card to the Waseca Summer Social Calendar. Participants will need to present their membership card in order to redeem calendar deals.
